Dear Edie, we highly appreciate your feedback! First we are very thankful you did take a chance and bought from us.
Of course, buying local is most smartest thing to do, you support local community and the footprint is less, avoiding the delivery. We agree for 100% .
Therefore we use Latvia post service, the company what think sustainably and does not deliver one small parcel like express delivery, but collect more parcels together and then send them abroad. We hope the importance of sustainable living is not considerable.
By the way - your parcel traveled to you less than15 days, not a month :)
Yarn what we offer in our online store is industrial yarn (cone yarn), mostly suitable for machine knitting, you are absolutely right. But at the other point - if you love hand knitting - you have a great opportunity to achieve very unique, very interesting results, by combining the thin yarn together, adding them to the other fibers, Using like a fancy details for your usual knitting projects. Also in our product page - below the picture, price, etc, - you can find the suggestions - how many treads put together and what kind of needles to use. We put a big effort to analyse each yarn - giving our customers as much information as possible. Also to recognise thin yarn from thicker - we show each yarns meteres per 100 grams. If the number before 100 grams is bigger, then thiner is yarn. For example, 1500 m /100 grams is thin yarn, but 150 m /100 grams is thick yarn. If you would like to choose only thick yarns for hand knitting - we suggest to shop by yarn weight - and choose - SPORT, DK, ARAN, CHUNKY YARNS.
To understand language differences with meters, kilograms etc. We highly suggest to use Google calculator - converter. It is very convenient.
We really hope you will get some inspiration and will use your lovely yarns in some great unusual way! We believe all the knitters in whole the world are the most incredible and creative people! With lots of love from Latvia!
